Forklift Operator - $18.00/HR

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Forklift Operator for a well-established company in Brownsville that produces wood pellets for home heating. This is a full-time, evaluation-to-hire position with long-term potential and a strong benefits package upon permanent hire.


Position Overview:
You will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to move raw materials and finished goods throughout the production and storage areas. This role requires attention to safety, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced, physical environment.


Key Responsibilities:

• Operate gas, electric, or propane-powered forklifts safely and efficiently
• Complete daily equipment checks and perform basic forklift maintenance (propane refills, fluid checks, etc.)
• Load and unload trucks, stack raw materials, and move completed product
• Support production by moving materials to and from workstations
• Wrap and tag finished pallets for shipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and yard
• Assist with general labor or production tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of forklift experience preferred
• Ability to pass company forklift certification/training
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills are a plus
