The Restaurant Steward is responsible for performing all phases of kitchen cleaning to maintain safe and sanitary conditions while under the Steward's supervision. Responsibilities include breakdown, feed, catch, and proper sorting of all china, silverware, and glassware as it is brought to the Dish Room. The Steward is also responsible for washing pots and pans and properly sorting and storing them on the pot shelves. Cleaning walls, ceilings, baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables, and cutting boards is part of the job, as well as sweeping and mopping all floors. The Steward must remove trash from the kitchen areas to the Trash Room, polish silver, glass, and brass in all outlets as needed, clean and maintain dish machines in all outlets, and wash kettle pots on the hot line as needed. Additionally, the Steward is responsible for cleaning the loading dock bay area with a pressure washer and inventorying china, glass, silver, and linen. Inform Steward of needed supplies.
Qualifications: Prior experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. The candidate must be capable of lifting and moving heavy objects and possess strong people skills. Communication skills including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English are required. The minimum age is 18 years old.
