About the Role:

The Physical Therapy Aide plays a crucial role in supporting physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting with the preparation and maintenance of treatment areas, ensuring that all equipment is clean and functional. The aide will also help patients with exercises and mobility tasks, fostering a supportive environment that encourages recovery and rehabilitation. Additionally, the aide will be responsible for managing patient registration and maintaining accurate electronic medical records. Ultimately, the Physical Therapy Aide contributes significantly to the overall efficiency of the clinic and the well-being of patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred..
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in physical therapy or rehabilitation.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physical therapists in preparing treatment areas and equipment for patient sessions.
  • Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks as directed by the physical therapist.
  • Manage patient registration and ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including treatment rooms and waiting areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service at the front desk, addressing patient inquiries and scheduling appointments.

Skills:

The required skills such as ultrasound and exercise physiology are essential for assisting therapists in delivering effective treatment plans. Patient care skills are utilized daily to ensure that patients feel comfortable and supported during their rehabilitation process. Knowledge of electronic medical records is critical for maintaining accurate patient information and facilitating smooth communication within the healthcare team. Familiarity with medical terminology and neuroscience enhances the aide's ability to understand treatment protocols and patient needs. Front desk skills are also important, as they enable the aide to manage patient interactions and administrative tasks efficiently.
